Killer Joe

by | Chord Melody

For this lesson, I have prepared a solo chord melody arrangement of saxophonist Benny Golson’s “Killer Joe”. And I’m dedicating it to the memory of my 3 favorite Jazz Joe’s: Joe Henderson, Joe Diorio and Joe Pass!

In case you’re not familiar with this standard, it features a bluesy 2 chord vamp over the A and C sections over a driving walking bass line. Originally written in 1954, what was truly ahead of its time is the bridge’s unique harmony! So grab a cup of Joe and check it out. (lol)
