Frequently Asked Questions
I paid for a premium download and am being denied access to it or don't know where to download it.

This can usually occur for one of 2 reasons:

  1. You did not follow the payment instructions correctly and registered for a second time. NOTE: Above the PayPal check out button it says:

IMPORTANT: After you have made your payment, please wait for a new window to open and select: ‘I Have An Existing Account. Next it will prompt you to enter your login information after which it will automatically open the DOWNLOADS page on your browser.” (A similar reminder appears above the login pop up immediately after you make your payment)

If you think you have registered for a second time after making your payment, please email me with your username and I will have to delete your 2nd registration which is why the system is blocking you. Note that this measure is in place for your own security to prevent others from using your email to impersonate you!

After your duplicate registration is deleted, you will be able to login with your username and password, and go directly to the post that contains the related video. You then can simply scroll down below the PayPal button and click on download. Since you have already paid, the link should open to the page where all the files are ready to be downloaded.

  1. You paid and then correctly selected “I Have An Existing Account” on the registration window. However, after logging in again, the new page with the downloads didn’t open up.

If this is the case, all you have to do is go back directly to the post that contains the related video. Scroll down below the PayPal button and click on Download. Since you have already paid, the link should open to the page where all the files are ready to be downloaded.

I am having trouble downloading a PDF or file.

Most problems trying to download a PDF are the result of your browser trying to open the document online. You must make sure to download the file to your hard drive first, and then open it from Adobe Acrobat, which is a free download here.

Every browser is different and requires a different work around if it is set to open a PDF online as a default. The platform (PC, Mac, Android, etc) will also introduce variables. Here are a few suggestions for some popular browsers:

In Google Chrome: Place your cursor on the download link. Right click and select “save link as” or “save as”.

You may also go into the Chrome Settings:

1- Under “Privacy and Security” select “Site Settings”

2- In “Side Settings” select “Additional Settings” towards the bottom.

3-In “Additional Settings” select “PDF Documents”

4- Select: “Download PDF Files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome”.

In Firefox:  Place your cursor on the download link. Right click and select “save link as” or “save as”.

You may also go into Firefox Settings:

1- Under “General” select “Files and Applications”

2- In “Files and Applications” go to list of applications and choose “Portable Document Format”. Set it to “Save File”.

You will need to do a search for instructions if your browser is not included here. In addition, if the above do not work, it is suggested that you try to download from a different browser or different computer.

Another cause of download problems is slow bandwidth. Some ISPs experience heavy traffic during certain times of the day, which may slow things down considerably, especially when handling bigger files. Consider trying at a different time.

I registered but can't login.

This can usually occur for one of 2 reasons:

1- You didn’t confirm your registration. You were sent a confirmation email with a link to confirm your registration with this site. Maybe the email ended up in your spam folder. Please check and if it’s there, mark it as not spam. It will be then moved to your inbox where you can open it and click on the link to confirm your registration.

If you can’t find the confirmation e-mail, you may have to wait 24 hours after which your incomplete registration will be deleted by the site. You can then register again and hopefully the confirmation email will reach your inbox. If not, your server is somehow rejecting it which rarely happens but is possible. If this is the case all I can recommend is that you try to register with a different email. Unfortunately, email  confirmations for all registrations are a legal requirement  in order to receive correspondence from a website such as this one.

2- Your username or password is wrong. You may be spelling something incorrectly. Remember, all usernames and passwords are case sensitive. You can’t change your username but you can request a new password by clicking on “Forgot your password?” and following the directions.

I tried to login several times and am now locked out.

Due to numerous continuous hacking attempts on the site, security software is in place that will temporarily lock out any user who makes 5 attempts to login with the wrong info. Please try again with your new password after 2 hours. You can request a new password by clicking on “Forgot your password?” and following the directions. Sorry about the inconvenience…

Didn't receive, or can't find the "20th Century Jazz Guitar" e-book.

To download the e-book, all you have to do is login with your username and password and you will find the download link on the Dashboard, within the written greeting at the top of the page.

Can't find the PDF "download" for a video I watched on You Tube.

Be aware that only videos in which I explicitly say there is a PDF for download on the site have one. If this is the case, please use the SEARCH box located at the top of the sidebar on your right (except on mobile devices), to view all the videos available by artist or category.  If the lesson you are searching for does not appear among the initial results, be sure to click on “search for older entries” at the very bottom of the page. If it is an older post, you will have to keep clicking on “search for older entries” sometimes over several pages and your selection should eventually appear.

What is the MGX file included in my download? I can't open it!

The MGX file can only be opened with the “Band in a Box” app if you have it installed on your computer. For more info or to purchase BIAB, please visit: https://www.pgmusic.com
