Latin Jazz Guitar Blues

by | Comping, Latin Jazz

If you dig Latin Jazz, I hope you had an opportunity to watch my lesson titled “Afro-Cuban Latin Jazz Guitar 101” where I explain in detail all the fundamentals of this style as applied to the “6 String Beast” ! (lol)  As a follow up, in this lesson you’ll learn how to play a conventional 3-chord 12 bar blues in Latin Jazz style. And to do so, I teach you how to comp and play montunos over 2 classic jazz blues: “Bessies Blues” by John Coltrane and “Sonnymoon for Two” by Sonny Rollins.

Here is an opportunity to learn an exciting style that is seldom taught on YouTube, or anywhere else for that matter. Be sure to check it out!

I am enjoying this new work involving Afro-Cuban blues. I always benefit from your expertise and your connections with music from Cuba, Central America, and South America. Your understanding of the rhythm patterns involved in this Cuban music is quite helpful.
