Antonio Carlos Jobim

It’s bossa nova time again, and I’m back with a fingerstyle chord melody arrangement of the Antonio Carlos Jobim classic… “Corcovado” (a.k.a “Quiet Stars of Quiet Nights”).

Throughout this arrangement I’ve tried to combine that cool bossa groove, with a touch of the classical influence also prominent in many of Jobim’s pieces. In doing so, I included some counterpoint as well as some rich chord voicings made possible only by combining fretted and open strings. Should sound great on an archtop or a nylon string!

Your contribution is much appreciated, as it helps support the site and allows me to keep investing the long hours required to produce these lessons. The download includes: a PDF of the transcription with both regular notation and TAB, an MP3 of the arrangement, and a Band In A Box file featuring the arrangement.
