How Insensitive Chord Melody

by | Bossa Nova, Chord Melody

In this lesson I teach you a fingerstyle chord melody arrangement of “How Insensitive” by one of bossa nova’s most prolific composers…Tom Jobim!

In several interviews, Jobim mentioned his admiration for classical composer Frederic Chopin, so it isn’t a coincidence that “How Insensitive” greatly resembles  Frederick Chopin’s Prelude in E minor for piano. Consequently, before I play my arrangement , in the video I first play the melody of “How Insensitive” over a small portion of Chopin’s prelude so you can see how it served as a basis for this composition. If you were not already aware of this, I guarantee that you will gain new insight into Jobim’s piece as well as my take on it for solo guitar.
