Everything Happens To Me
If you don’t know this standard, it should be next on your list to learn! Take a minute to check out these clever lyrics:
“I make a date for golf and you can bet your life it rains
I try to give a party and the guy upstairs complains
I guess I’ll go through life
Just catchin’ colds and missin’ trains
Everything happens to me…”
By the way, the music is also great! There are many vocal renditions…Sinatra, Ella, Chet Baker…and the list goes on. However, I recently came across the Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett versions, and they absolutely blew me away. They inspired me to arrange this solo chord melody arrangement .
