This is the second in a series of Charlie Parker compositions that I recently started teaching. Previously I posted a lesson on “Ornithology”, which as most of you know is a great bebop melody over the changes to “How High The Moon”. If you missed it, be sure to check it out!

In this episode I show you one of my personal favorites…“Yardbird Suite”. Unlike most of his super up tempo pieces, this one is usually played at a medium tempo and the resulting fingerings are more guitar friendly. So for those of you just getting started with some Charlie Parker repertoire, this one might be a good choice.
